Target, Joey clothing children’s pajamas recall overview:

  • Who: Target and Joey Clothing issued separate recalls for children’s pajama products.
  • Why: Target and Joey Clothing issued the recalls over concerns the products pose a burn risk by failing to meet flammability standards.
  • Where: The recalls are nationwide.

Target and Joey Clothing initiated recalls today for children’s pajamas the companies say could pose a burn risk due to a failure to meet flammability standards.

Target’s recall is for around 120,000 of its Cat & Jack brand Unicorn Cozy Pajama Sets. The pajamas are sold in extra small through extra large sizes and come in two pieces with a long-sleeved top.

The company initiated the recall over concerns the children’s pajamas don’t meet federal flammability standards, according to information the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission published on June 2.

Target advises consumers to immediately take the pajamas away from children and return them to the store to receive a full refund.

Consumers who purchased the Cat & Jack Unicorn Cozy Pajamas Sets online can alternately contact Target to obtain a prepaid return label that can be used to facilitate a return and refund.

Target sold the recalled pajamas for around $15 from between October 2021 and March 2022 online and at Target store locations nationwide.

Joey Clothing recalls Leveret children’s robes over burn risk

Joey Clothing, meanwhile, recalled around 15,930 of its Leveret brand children’s robes over concerns that they fail to meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear.

The recall, which is being done in conjunction with Canada, says the robes are made with cotton and nylon and come with an attached hood, detachable belt, two cuffed wrists and functional pockets.

Joey Clothing advises consumers to immediately take the robes away from children and contact the company to receive a full refund.

To obtain a refund, product owners must cut the robes in half and email the company photographic proof that they are destroyed, according to the Joey Clothing recall.

The recalled Leveret children’s robes were sold online at amazon.com and leveret.com, among other places, for between $30 and $35 from November 2020 through January 2022.

Joey Clothing says it has not received reports of injuries connected to the recall.

In February, a number of children’s toys, accessories and pajama sets were recalled over concerns they could pose a variety of safety risks to children and babies.
