FCA US LLC has agreed to a class action settlement to end claims it failed to provide appropriate warranty coverage for certain valve train system components in some Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles.
The FCA settlement benefits individuals who purchased or leased certain Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles in the states of California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont or Washington from model years 2015 to 2020 that were equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine.
The settlement covers 2015-2020 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300, Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Ram ProMaster, Dodge Durango and Grand Cherokee vehicles, as well as 2015-2019 Dodge Journey vehicles and 2015-2017 Chrysler 200 vehicles.
FCA US, now a subsidiary of Stellantis, is a car manufacturer that produces vehicles under brands such as Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler.
According to a class action lawsuit, FCA US failed to provide appropriate warranty coverage for certain valve train system components in the class vehicles. As a result, consumers were forced to pay out of pocket for repairs that should have been covered by warranty, the plaintiffs contend.
FCA US has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the FCA settlement, class members are eligible for a warranty extension.
The extended emissions warranty will cover the costs of all parts and labor for replacing a failed valve rocker arm, valve stem oil seal or valve tappet component for seven years from the vehicle’s in-service date or 70,000 miles driven, whichever comes first.
Class members who previously paid for the diagnosis and/or repair of a failed valve rocker arm, valve stem oil seal or valve tappet component may be eligible for reimbursement under the settlement.
To receive reimbursement, class members must submit a valid claim form, along with proof of payment, documentation identifying the vehicle and other supporting documentation.
The deadline to opt out of or object to the FCA settlement is Oct. 12, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the class action settlement is scheduled for Oct. 28, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 12, 2026.
