Eye ointment recall issued for products sold at Walmart, CVS

Brassica Pharma Pvt. Ltd. recalled certain eye ointment products distributed through Walmart, CVS and AACE Pharmaceuticals Inc. The company says it issued the recall due to sterility issues associated with the affected products, which could lead to an increased risk of eye infections or related issues.

The products associated with the recall are Walmart’s Equate Lubricant Eye Ointment and Equate Stye Lubricant Eye Ointment, CVS Equate Stye Lubricant Eye Ointment and AACE Pharmaceuticals Lubricant PM Ointment.

According to Brassica Pharma, there have been no reported adverse effects linked to the recalled eye ointments.

Consumers should discontinue use of the affected products and return them to the point of purchase, the recall notice states. They can contact Brassica Pharma directly at 833-225-9564 or info@brassicapharma.com for further assistance.

VW recalls various vehicle models due to potential fuel leak

Volkswagen Group of America issued a recall for more than 260,000 VW vehicles due to potential fuel leak concerns that could present a fire hazard. The recall includes certain model year 2015-2020 Audi A3 Sedans, Volkswagen Golf GTIs and Volkswagen Golf A7 vehicles, among others.

The company identified a defective suction jet pump in the recalled vehicles that could lead to fuel flowing into and accumulating in the evaporative emissions (EVAP) systems, potentially resulting in leakage through the charcoal canister filter element, the recall notice states.

The notice also emphasizes the fire risk associated with leaking fuel, especially in the presence of an ignition source. Volkswagen advised affected vehicle owners to look for signs of a fuel leak, which may appear as difficulties during refueling, such as early-stopping fuel nozzles and spillback.

The automaker plans to address the issue by replacing the faulty suction jet pump within the fuel tank of the affected vehicles with the latest version at no cost to the owners, according to the recall notice. The company will notify vehicle owners beginning April 12.

FCA recalls Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles

FCA issued a recall for more than 330,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles due to concerns about a potential suspension component issue that could lead to the unexpected detachment and outward fall of a wheel.

The recall involves 249,752 model year 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L SUVs and 88,486 model year 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs.

FCA says the recalled vehicles may contain damaged upper control arm (UCA) pinch bolts, a result of issues during the assembly process, according to the recall notice. These compromised bolts could break, causing a loss of clamp load between the UCA ball joint and knuckle, ultimately leading to the separation of the UCA from the knuckle and the wheel falling outboard.

Affected Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may notice abnormal noises while driving over bumps, the recall notice states. FCA says it plans to address the problem by replacing the damaged pinch bolts. The automaker will also reimburse those who incurred out-of-pocket expenses to fix the problem.

Hydrogen peroxide mouthwash recall issued due to lack of child-resistant packaging

Nutraceutical Corp. recalled 102,100 bottles of its Heritage Store hydrogen peroxide mouthwash because the ethanol content requires child-resistant packaging.

The recall involves all lots of mouthwash in wintermint and eucalyptus mint flavors, packaged in dark opaque brown bottles with a white lid, the recall notice states.

Nutraceutical Corp. distributed the mouthwash at various retailers nationwide, including Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Mom’s Organic Market, New Seasons Market and Mother’s Market and Kitchen stores, as well as online at Amazon.com, iherb.com and heritagestore.com.

Consumers should store the mouthwash out of reach and sight of children and contact Nutraceutical for a full refund or replacement, inclusive of shipping costs, according to the recall notice.

Customers can reach Nutraceutical at 800-227-6063 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. MT, Monday-Friday, by email at info@nutracorp.com or through the company’s online platform.

Polaris recalls snowmobiles due to injury risk

Polaris recalled about 9,200 model year 2022-2024 Matryx snowmobiles equipped with Patriot 650 and 850 engines.

The primary drive clutch can fail, causing the clutch or its components to separate from the vehicle, according to the recall notice.

The company previously recalled the snowmobiles in May 2023, August 2023 and November 2023 for the same issue.

Consumers can contact Polaris Industries at 800-765-2747 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday or visit polaris.com.

  1. Mary says:

Organic camomile tea or pure camomile tea is an easy and soothing remedy for dry, irritated, itchy, tired, or allergy eyes.

Steep a bag and let it cool until slightly warm or until room temperature, and rinse each eye with it. (If you don’t have an eye cup use a clean, shallow container). Keep your eye open while flushing it with the tea.

If you notice gunk in the corners of your eyes afterward or the next day, that’s a good thing. It shows the camomile has done its job in bringing bacteria to the surface, and you will notice the relief.

Similason makes great dry eye and allergy eye drops as well! The bottles are small and can be carried and used on the go if needed.
