E. Mishan & Sons, the parent company of Gotham Steel, Granite Stone and Bell & Howell, agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims it falsely advertised cookware products as “healthy” and “non-toxic” despite containing dangerous chemicals.

The Bell & Howell settlement benefits consumers who purchased one or more Gotham Steel, Granite Stone or Bell & Howell cookware products in California or Colorado between Sept. 8, 2021, and July 6, 2026.

Plaintiffs in the PFAS cookware class action lawsuit accused E. Mishan & Sons of misleading consumers with claims that its cookware products were “healthy,” “non-toxic” and “safe.” In reality, the Gotham Steel cookware allegedly contained dangerous chemicals, such as chromium, iron, nickel, lead, cadmium, PFOA, PFAS, PTFE and PFOS.

E. Mishan & Sons is a cookware company that sells products under the Gotham Steel, Granite Stone and Bell & Howell brands.

E. Mishan & Sons has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the PFAS cookware class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Bell & Howell settlement, class members can receive a cash payment of $6 per eligible product, with a limit of two products per household for a total of $12.

The company also agreed to make non-monetary changes to its business practices. E. Mishan & Sons will include a statement on product labels and its website that the products contain iron, chromium and nickel.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 25, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Bell & Howell class action settlement is scheduled for Nov. 2, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 25, 2026.
