Sportsman’s Guide agreed to pay $1.015 million to resolve claims it shared firearm purchase information without consent.

The Sportsman’s Guide settlement benefits Pennsylvania residents who ordered or reserved a firearm online from Sportsman’s Guide between Jan. 11, 2021, and July 7, 2026.

According to the class action lawsuit resolved by the settlement, Sportsman’s Guide violated Pennsylvania data privacy laws by sharing information about firearm purchases on its website without consent. This information allegedly violated the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act and the Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act.

Sportsman’s Guide is an online retailer that sells hunting, fishing and camping gear, including firearms.

Sportsman’s Guide has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to the $1.015 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.

Under the terms of the Sportsman’s Guide settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of claims filed with the settlement. Class members are estimated to receive $145 per claim.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Sept. 21, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Sportsman’s Guide settlement is scheduled for Oct. 28, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 5, 2026.
