America New York Ri Wang Food Group Ready-to-Eat Pork Sausage Metal Recall Overview:

  • Who: America New York Ri Wang Food Group Co. recalled more than seven tons of sausage sticks and luncheon loaf products.
  • Why: The products may have pieces of metal in them.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United States.

A food products supplier recalled more than seven tons of sausage and luncheon loaf products nationwide after a customer found pieces of metal embedded in a sausage stick.

On May 18, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced America New York Ri Wang Food Group Co., Ltd. recalled approximately 14,635 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage sticks and luncheon loaf products.

There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or adverse reactions due to consumption of the products so far, the company says. 

America New York Ri Wang Food Group is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.  

Sausage Sticks, Luncheon Loaf Shipped Nationwide, Recall Says

America New York Ri Wang Food Group produced the affected sausage sticks and luncheon loaf items on various dates from April 5, 2022, to May 5, 2022, and shipped them nationwide.

FSIS says it is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. 

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase,” it said.

These recalled products include: 

  • 16-oz. plastic bags containing one luncheon loaf with a “Use/Refreeze by NOV. 11, 2022” date and lot numbers of 422094 and 422110.
  • 23-oz. plastic bags containing 10 sausage sticks with a “Use/Refreeze by NOV. 13, 2022” date and lot numbers of 422094, 422102, 422112, 422116, 522122 and 522124.
  • 10-oz. plastic bags containing four sausage sticks with a “Use/Refreeze by NOV. 13, 2022” date and lot numbers of 422094, 422102, 422112, 422116, 422119, 522122 and 522123.

Meanwhile, food safety authorities recalled ready-to-eat meat sticks produced by seven different brands in March due to fears they may contain undisclosed wheat.
