  • Where: The 4moms rocker and swings recall affects products sold in the United States and Canada.

4moms recalled two million MamaRoo Baby Swings and hundreds of thousands RockaRoo Baby Rocker products that pose a strangulation hazard when not in use.

4moms has already received reports of one injury of a 10-month-old infant and one death, that of another 10-month-old infant, associated with the MamaRoo swing. No reports have been made related to the RockaRoo rockers.

When not in use, the restraint straps of the swings and rockers can dangle below the seat, which becomes an entanglement and strangulation hazard for crawling infants

The recall involves two million MamaRoo swings, versions 1.0 through 4.0, and 220,000 RockaRoo rockers in the US, as well as 60,000 MamaRoo swings and 10,000 RockaRoo rockers sold in Canada.

4moms is a brand of Thorley Industries LLC, which made the recall in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC recall number is 22-200.

What to do about the 4moms wing and baby rocker recall

4moms instructs customers with crawling infants to stop using the recalled swings and rockers immediately and place them where they cannot be accessed by infants.

Customers can then contact 4moms to register for a “free strap fastener that will prevent the straps from extending under the swing when not in use.” 4moms said it will contact all known purchasers directly.

4moms can be reached toll-free at 877-870-7390 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, by email at safetyandrecall@4moms.com and via the company’s website.

4moms recalls 3 MamaRoo, 1 BabyRoo model numbers

4moms recalled MamaRoo Baby Swing models with a three-point harness. This includes versions 1.0 and 2.0 (model number 4M-005), version 3.0 (model number 1026) and version 4.0 (model number 1037). The model number is located on the bottom of the unit. There is a MamaRoo model that uses a five-point harness, but it is not included in this recall.

Recalled RockaRoo Baby Rockers have the model number 4M-012 on the bottom of the unit.

The swings and rockers were sold for between $160 and $250 at BuyBuy Baby and Target stores nationwide, as well as online at 4moms.com and Amazon from January 2010 through August 2022.

When buying tjese products, regardless kf what xompanu made them….we as parents should think ahead and realize and think, “oh hey, i should do something about these straps, so my child doesnt get hurt ect”. All part of being a parent and making sure your homw is safe and baby proofed for your young child. And when keeping an eye on yoir baby as well. Its nkt the companys fault in my opinion. Its the parents for not thinking ahead, and fixing the problem before a problem happens!! I have a 1 year old, my first child, and its not that f-ing hard to do!

  4. Evette Walton says:

I would be interested in pursuing a lawsuit. This is supposed to be a top of the line product, especially with the amount of money we paid to purchase the item. Providing a strap as a remedy that has caused injury and death when we trust you with our children us insulting. A full refund should be as least be offered.

  5. Stella Oxford says:

My son is 9 going on 10 and when he was a baby we had a close call from the straps as well. Please tell me if law suit on these.
