A number of popular companies, retailers and manufacturers announced top recalls this week for products that may pose potential injury to consumers.

Whole Foods Market 365 Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing recalled due to mislabeling

On Aug. 16, Van Law Food Products announced it recalled its Whole Foods Market 365 Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing because it contains soy and wheat allergens that were undeclared on the packaging. The product was sold in the produce or dairy department of Whole Foods stores in 26 states.

Affected products have a UPC code of 99482-49027 in 12 oz. glass bottles with a best-by date of 04/06/2023. This label was mistakenly placed on the back of the product, which does not reveal the presence of soy and wheat allergen.

Although no illnesses have been reported so far, people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. As such, consumers are encouraged to dispose of the product and seek a refund at the point of sale with receipt.

D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Company recalls cookies distributed at Target due to metal wire

On Aug. 25, D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Co., Inc. announced that it recalled its 44 oz. Market Pantry White Fudge Animal Cookies that were distributed to Target stores nationwide. The cookes were recalled when they were found to have metal wire inside a portion of the product.

This top recall applies to Market Pantry brand White Fudge Animal Cookies with a best-before date of Feb. 21, 2023 and UPC 085239817698. The product comes in a clear plastic jug formed to a bear shape.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are encouraged to stop consuming the cookes and return them to the point of sale for a full refund as the metal wire objects found within the product may cause serious or dental injury.

Various Ford pickup trucks, cars recalled due to faulty cameras

On Aug. 26, Ford announced on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website that it recalled 277,040 vehicles, including certain 2017-2020 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental vehicles.

Affected vehicles feature a faulty rearview camera that was introduced into production on Nov. 12, 2015, and taken out of production on March 10, 2020. The 360-degree camera system has an anti-reflective lens coating that can degrade over time and lead to a foggy or cloudy rearview camera.

Owners should take their vehicles to a dealer, who will replace the rearview camera free of charge.

Snow Joe cordless lawn mowers recalled due to part detachment

Snow Joe posted a notice to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website on Sept. 1, recalling more than 26,000 of its Sun Joe Cordless Lawn Mowers in the United States and 350 in Canada.

The recall applies to Sun Joe Cordless Lawn Mowers models 24V-X2-17LM and 24V-X2-17LM-CT, which have blades that can detach unexpectedly. So far, the company has received 31 reports of either the blade or the bolt securing the blade on recalled lawn mowers detaching; however, no injuries have been reported so far.

The recalled 48-volt mowers have a 17-inch cutting width and are light green and black in color. The mowers were sold online at www.amazon.com, www.homedepot.com, www.walmart.com and www.snowjoe.com and in hardware, electronics and department stores nationwide from June 2020 through July 2022 for between $190 and $350.
