  • Why: The strollers have a fingertip amputation hazard that has seen one child’s fingertip amputated, and the bath seats can tip over, posing a drowning hazard.
  • Where: The children’s recalls are nationwide in the United States

UPPAbaby recalled about 14,400 UPPAbaby All-Terrain RIDGE Jogging Strollers after a child’s fingertip was amputated due to the product.

The recall was posted Sept. 1 on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

According to the recall, the stroller’s rear disc brakes have openings that can cause amputation or laceration if a child’s fingertip gets caught in the openings while the stroller is in use.

“The firm has received one reported incident, resulting in a fingertip amputation to a child who was not in the stroller while in use,” the children’s recall says.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact UPPAbaby to receive free replacement brake discs for both wheels, according to the recall.

The product was sold at BuyBuyBaby, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Pottery Barn Kids and other children’s stores and specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from Oct. 2021 through Aug. 2022 for about $600.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Yuboloo infant bath seats recalled due to drowning hazard

The news comes as Yuboloo recalled about 1,050 infant bath seats due to a drowning hazard. The infant bath seats reportedly fail to meet the federal safety standard for infant bath seats, including requirements for stability and leg openings, and can tip over while in use, posing a drowning hazard to babies.

No incidents have been reported; however, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled infant bath seats and contact Yuboloo to receive a prepaid label to return the product.

Upon receipt of the infant bath seats, consumers will be issued a full refund for the purchase price.

Meanwhile, 4moms recently recalled 2 million MamaRoo Baby Swings and hundreds of thousands RockaRoo Baby Rocker products that pose a strangulation hazard when not in use.

4moms has already received reports of one injury of a 10-month-old infant and one death, that of another 10-month-old infant, associated with the MamaRoo swing. No reports have been made related to the RockaRoo rockers.

The company now faces a class action lawsuit over the issue.
