Norwex Ceramic Knives Recall Overview:

  • Who: Norwex is recalling 40,000 of its ceramic knives in the United States and 2,500 in Canada
  • Why: The knives can break during use, posing a laceration hazard.
  • Where: The recall is nationwide in the United States and Canada.

More than 42,000 ceramic knives are being recalled in the United States and Canada as they can break during use, potentially causing lacerations.

In a recall notice posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website Apr. 21, Norwex said it was recalling all of its Norwex Ceramic Knives.

“The handle on the Norwex ceramic knives can break during use, posing a laceration hazard,” the recall notice says.

The recall comes after the company received 188 reports of incidents, including 158 reports of the handle breaking and 30 reports of damage to the knives during shipping. No injuries have been reported so far.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

The recall applies to about 40,000 knives in the United States and 2,500 in Canada.

The knives have a ceramic blade and bamboo handle. They measure about eight inches long with a four-inch blade and a four-inch handle. Norwex is printed on the handle.

Consumers Should Stop Using Knives, Contact Norwex for Replacement, Recall Says

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled knives and contact Norwex USA for information on how to obtain a free replacement and to request a return kit, which includes a prepaid return shipping label, according to the recall notice.

The knives were sold through Norwex USA and given away through Norwex Canada as a promotional product from January 2022 through February 2022.

In 2019, Norwex recalled its rubber brooms because the product could break in half, causing a laceration hazard.
