Snak King Sea Salt Popcorn Recall Overview:
- Who: Snak King is recalling some 5-ounce packages of “O Organics Sea Salt Organic Popcorn.”
- Why: The packages are being recalled due to cross contamination with a milk allergen, which may pose serious risks to those with milk allergies.

Check your snack drawer. Snak King is voluntarily recalling certain 5-ounce packages of “O Organics Sea Salt Organic Popcorn” due to cross contamination with a milk allergen.
“People who have an allergy or sensitivity to milk may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the recall states.
The recall was issued Apr. 12 on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website and applies to “O Organics Sea Salt Organic Popcorn” with “best if used by” dates of 9/24/2022 and 9/25/2022.
The recalled products were sold in ACME, Safeway, King’s, Balducci’s, Jewel-Osco, Andronico’s Community Markets, Vons, Pak ‘N Save, Albertsons, Eagle, Carrs-Safeway, Haggen and Pavilions locations in multiple states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Idaho.
The recalled product comes in a 5-ounce flexible package. The “best if used by” date is located on the front of the package on the upper right-hand side, the recall states.
The UPC number for this item is 079893 403038.
Snak King Popcorn Recall Reports No Illnesses to Date
According to Snak King, there have been no reports of illness to date.
The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged to not eat it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Meanwhile, in 2020, a California resident filed a class action lawsuit against Topco Associates, saying the company’s Full Circle Market popcorn is underfilled.
Plaintiff Theresa Reisfelt said the packaging of Full Circle Market popcorn is intentionally misleading, giving the impression that there is more popcorn in the package than there really is.
