Aldi salad dressing recall overview:

  • Who: TreeHouse foods voluntarily recalled one lot of its Restaurant Style Italian Dressing sold under the brand Tuscan Garden and through the supermarket Aldi.
  • Why: It initiated the recall over concerns the salad dressing product contains undeclared allergens in wheat and soy.
  • Where: The recalled Tuscan Garden salad dressing product was distributed nationwide.

TreeHouse Foods voluntarily recalled one lot of its Restaurant Style Italian Dressing that it sells under the brand name Tuscan Garden and through the supermarket Aldi over concerns it contains undeclared wheat and soy.

The recall was initiated after TreeHouse discovered that some of the Restaurant Style Italian Dressing may contain Asian Sesame Dressing, which the company says contains the allergens wheat and soy.

Labeling for TreeHouse’s Restaurant Style Italian Dressing only declares that it has the allergens egg and dairy, according to the Aldi salad dressing recall.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the Aldi salad dressing recall states.

TreeHouse says the recalled product, which has a best-by date of Aug. 10, 2023, was distributed nationwide through Aldi between Aug. 23 and Sept. 23.

No other varieties of Tuscan Garden salad dressing included in the recall

No other varieties of the Tuscan Garden salad dressing are included in the recall, according to the Aldi salad dressing recall. TreeHouse says it has not received any reports of a consumer having an allergic reaction related to the recall.

The company discovered the issue after it received two complaints that it says originated from the store level.

TreeHouse urges consumers who purchased the Restaurant Style Italian Dressing to either dispose of it or return it to its original place of purchase to receive a full refund, according to the Aldi salad dressing recall.

Consumers who have more questions about the recall can contact TreeHouse directly by phone at 800-596-2902.
