InterContinental Hotel Data Breach Class Action Settlement Paying Out
TCA viewers have received PayPal payments of $80 as part of a class action settlement with Intercontinental Hotels.
The plaintiffs claimed hackers had accessed consumers’ sensitive financial information in a 2017 data breach that affected more than 1,000 hotel locations. They alleged they were injured as a result of that breach.
The claim deadline was Sept. 12, 2020.
The InterContinental Hotel Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit was Orr, et al. v. InterContinental Hotels Group PLC, et al., Case No. 1:17-cv-01622-MLB, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
1-800 Contacts Class Action Settlement Payouts On The Way
Consumers who filed a claim in the 1-800 Contacts class action settlement have been receiving payments of more than $800.
The company allegedly entered into anti-competitive agreements with other contact lens companies, allegedly ensuring the companies wouldn’t compete in online advertising and ensuring consumers would not be able to search online ads for the best deals on contacts, according to the class action lawsuit. This resulted in consumers paying higher prices.
The deadline to file a claim was Dec. 4, 2020.

Neiman Marcus Data Breach Settlement Paying Out
Neiman Marcus data breach settlement Class Members have reported receiving checks for $100.
The plaintiffs filed their class action lawsuit after the company announced in January 2014 that malware had compromised its payment card systems. More than 370,000 payment card accounts were used at affected locations while the malware was active, according to the settlement administrator.
The claim deadline was Jan. 17, 2018.
The Neiman Marcus Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit was Hilary Remijas, et al. v. The Neiman Marcus Group LLC, Case No. 1:14-cv-01735, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Navy Federal CU TCPA Class Action Settlement
Consumers who made a claim in the Navy Federal settlement over text messages have reported receiving payments of $26.53.
Non-Navy Federal members allegedly received hundreds of unwanted text messages from the credit union between 2015 and 2020, according to the class action lawsuit, a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
The deadline to file a claim form was Sept. 7, 2020.

Dollar General DG Auto Motor Oil $28.5M Settlement Payouts On The Way
Several TCA viewers have received deposits of up to $16.80 in the DG Auto motor oil class action settlement.
Allegedly, the defendants deceptively marketed and sold DG Auto motor oils that were obsolete and could potentially harm vehicles, the plaintiffs argued.
The deadline to make a claim for refund benefits was June 8, 2021. The deadline for property damage claims was Aug. 23, 2021.

Michigan Field & Stream, Working Mother Magazines Settlement
Payments of $78.92 have reached Class Members who filed a claim in the Michigan Field & Stream, Working Mother magazines settlement.
The class action lawsuit had accused defendant Bonnier Corp., publisher of a number of magazines, of collecting and selling subscribers’ private information without their consent or notice, a violation of the Michigan Video Rental Privacy Act.
Claim forms must have been filed by Aug. 23, 2019.
