President of TCA

Good morning, everyone!

I hope your week was productive and profitable! We had another busy week at Top Class Actions as we continue to work on the pesky pop-up problem (the #1 complaint from our viewers.) Our programmer is hard at work fixing it and has assured me we’ll have it nailed down by Friday. What’s that mean? When you click or tap on an article on the website and go to another page the newsletter sign-up pop-up won’t pop up again after you’ve closed it once. Constant popping is too much popping! I’m sorry for the frustration!

I’m writing this to you on 9/11. A date that holds a special moment in all of our hearts—especially for those of us who remember watching the Twin Towers fall 16 years ago. I remember that day vividly. I was working in the IT department for America Online’s Member Services division. I did what I always did on the way to work back then, cranked up my CD player, lowered the top on my 300 ZX convertible, and cruised into work bumping tunes, oblivious to what was happening in New York City. I get to work and my teammate Dave says, ‘DID YOU SEE?!?! DID YOU HEAR?!?! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!?!?’ I had no idea what he was talking about, so he dragged me into a conference room where they had the news on. At that point, the second tower was about to fall. We sat there in disbelief as we watched it fall and more innocents were killed by terrorists. Horrific. At that point we didn’t know WHAT to do and were dazed by it, even though we were a few thousand miles away. It truly shook the country to its core. At that point we turned off the TV. We ‘were’ the internet for most people back then so people were hopping online and checking out the latest news. That meant the three 55,000 square foot call center and member services divisions were HOPPING! So, we put our heads down and did our jobs, supporting our teams.

For years after, 9/11 seemed like a sacred day to every American. A day to reflect on the lives lost and the fact that terrorism can come to our shores and touch us directly. Now a days, it seems that many have lost their focus on that terrible day in our history. In the weeks that followed the tragedy, we were all playing a very sad game of six degrees of separation. It seemed I had a number of friends with relatives/friends who were in the towers or impacted by the destruction their collapse caused. We can never forget what happened on September 11th, 2001. We must stay vigilant. Never forget. Give your loved ones an extra hug and kiss tonight!

We’re continuing to build some really cool things this year and though we only have 3.5 months left in the year, there’s still time for more awesome! Here are a couple of things I thought you would be interested in before I go . . .

That’s all for now! Make it a GREAT week!

Warm Regards,

Scott Hardy
President
