GM recalls certain Chevrolet Spark vehicles

General Motors (GM) is recalling more than 120,000 model year 2013-2015 Chevrolet Spark vehicles and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Spark EVs due to potential corrosion of the secondary hood latch.

GM says the secondary hood latch lever in the affected vehicles may prematurely corrode at the pivot, possibly causing the secondary latch striker to become stuck out of position and fail to properly engage. This can result in the vehicle’s hood opening unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Consumers with affected vehicles can take them to dealers who will replace the hood striker assembly and hood latch assembly, free of charge.

Magnolia Provision Co. Inc. recalls beef jerky

The recall was initiated when Magnolia Provision received confirmation from its lab that a product sample returned positive for listeria monocytogenes.

Consumption of food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women and their newborns

The affected products are 2-ounce, 8-ounce and 16-ounce packages of Beef Jerky Experience Chop House Style Prime Rib Flavored Beef Jerky with “EXP 8/25/23” displayed on the back of the package.

Consumers are encouraged to not consume the product and return it to the place of purchase.

The recalled Children’s HearMuffs were sold nationwide at stores such as Sam’s Club and Kroger, as well as online, from between January 2018 and December 2021, according to the children’s sound compression earmuffs recall.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled Lucid Audio Children’s HearMuffs and to contact the company directly in order to receive a free replacement pair of AAA batteries.
