Highlands Oncology Group has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims that a 2025 data breach compromised patient information.

The Highlands Oncology settlement benefits individuals whose private information was compromised in the Highlands Oncology data breach in June 2025.

Highlands Oncology is an Arkansas-based cancer treatment center. A class action lawsuit filed against the company accused the center of failing to protect patient information during the alleged ransomware cyberattack.

Plaintiffs in the Highlands Oncology data breach class action lawsuit claimed that Highlands Oncology could have prevented the breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures. The plaintiffs say that they are now at risk for fraud and identity theft as a result of the breach.

Highlands Oncology has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a class action settlement to resolve the allegations.

Under the terms of the Highlands Oncology settlement, class members can receive a cash payment and medical data monitoring.

Class members can receive up to $4,250 for documented losses related to the data breach. This includes identity theft, fraud, credit expenses, bank fees, costs related to replacing IDs and more. Class members must provide documentation of these expenses to receive a payment.

Class members who did not experience documented losses as a result of the Highlands Oncology data breach can receive a one-time cash payment of $50.

All class members are eligible for three years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete. This service includes $1 million in medical identity theft insurance and monitoring for healthcare insurance ID exposure, medical record number exposure and unauthorized Health Savings Account spending.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 7, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Highlands Oncology class action settlement is scheduled for Nov. 6, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 22, 2026.
