The William Carter Company (Carter’s) recalled its Infant’s Yellow Footed Fleece Pajamas with Animal Graphic as consumers found small metal wire pieces in the pajamas.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website posted the recall notice Nov. 17.

It applies to about 50,800 Carter’s Infant’s Yellow Footed Fleece Pajamas with Animal Graphic in the United States and about 200 in Canada.

“Small metal wire pieces can be found in the pajamas, posing puncture and laceration hazards to young children,” the Carter’s pajamas recall says.

Carter’s pajamas recall says product should be returned for gift card refund

Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajamas away from children and return them to a Carter’s store location for a full refund in the form of a gift card, the recall says.

Consumers can also contact Carter’s to request a free return label and envelope to return the pajamas for a refund in the form of an electronic gift card.

The recalled pajamas are yellow with an all over heart design and a pink animal graphic.

The UPC numbers included in the recall are 195861313861, 195861313878 and 195861313885, and the pajamas were sold at Carter’s, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Belk, Boscov’s and other stores nationwide and online at www.carters.com from July 2022 through Sept. 2022 for about $22.

No injuries related to the metal wire have been reported so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Meanwhile, in October, Amazon and JCPenney recalled children’s pajamas and bathrobes because they violate flammability standards and can pose a burn hazard to kids.
