Mockingbird stroller recall overview:

  • Who: Mockingbird recalled about 149,000 single-to-double strollers.
  • Why: The strollers can crack, posing a fall risk to children.
  • Where: The recall is active in the United States.

Mockingbird has issued a recall of about 149,000 single-to-double strollers as they can crack, posing a fall risk to children. Eight children have been injured so far.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website posted the recall notice Nov. 10.

It applies to Mockingbird Single-to-Double Strollers sold for between $395 and $450 at Target stores nationwide and online at hellomockingbird.com, babylist.com, goodbuygear.com and target.com from March 2020 to September 2022.

According to the recall notice, the lower side of the stroller frame can crack. Mockingbird says it received 138 reports of cracks in the frame so far, including eight injuries involving cuts, scratches or bruising to children in the strollers.

The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Mockingbird stroller recall warns parents to immediately stop using product

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled single-to-double strollers and contact Mockingbird to receive a free frame reinforcement kit, the recall states. It includes two frame clamps that attach to the sides of the stroller to reinforce the frame.

The recall includes only Mockingbird single-to-double strollers with a lot number between 20091 and 22602. The lot number is a five-digit number that can be found on the white product label on the inner left side of the stroller frame near the top of the basket.

Mockingbird is contacting all known purchasers directly.

The news comes two months after Baby Trend recalled around 310 of its Cityscape Travel Jogger Strollers over concerns they have defective parking brakes which can fail, presenting a child fall and injury hazard.
