DRAM FB #2 7-7-16

The Dynamic Random Access Memory class action settlement resolves allegations that the small electric part found in computers, printers, video game consoles and other devices were sold at an artificially high price due to price-fixing.

The settlement included the following types of DRAM:

  • Extended Data Out (EDO)
  • Fast-Page Mode (FPM)
  • Reduced Latency (RLDRAM)
  • Synchronous (SDRAM)
  • Rambus (RDRAM)
  • Asynchronous (ASYNC)
  • Double Data Rate (DDR)

Class Members included all individuals (or businesses) who purchased DRAM (or a device containing DRAM) between Jan. 1, 1998 and Dec. 31, 2002. In addition, Class Members must have made their purchase inside the U.S. and it must not have been made directly from a DRAM manufacturer.

The deadline to file a claim for the DRAM settlement passed on Aug. 1, 2014.

Got a check for $181.63 yesterday. Was skeptical. Took to bank…teller said she had seen another. She suggested I deposit instead of cash and wait for check to clear.

I actually own a computer store… I am curious.. does anyone remember how many CEU units you claimed? Did they send a calculation or explanation of how they arrived at the amount? Thanks… to the guy who bought, many servers, how many was that? What I am trying to figure out is the amount per CEU. No one at DRAM settlement will tell me. They say it is a secret. So, for those of you who got $16 or $17, I am trying to figure out if that was for one computer or two computers or do you even remember? Thanks all!

to avoid verification and request of proof, claims had to be reasonable enough and credible. no proof was required for normal quantity. I did claim 3 laptops, 1 desktop, 1 printer. I got 2 checks of 103.68 and 99.68. not sure if they will clear though. hope this helps.

      1. tony says:

if you receive check……that means they will automatically clear….

    2. cwd says:

I had to fill out an additional form due to being a high volume business. My check was $2040.00.

That said, my bank put a hold on the check because they have received information that there is a chance it may be returned.

      1. fnglover says:

to be safe, it would be advisable to deposit the amount received on a bank account and wait for the check to clear before buying stuff.
