Jeep recall overview:

Chrysler is recalling more than 200,000 Jeep vehicles due to a software malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system. This defect could lead to the system failing to alert drivers of low tire pressure, posing a heightened risk of accidents.
The recall, issued on Sept. 1, involves several Jeep models, including the 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2024-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee and other variations, such as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Jeep Cherokee.
The issue stems from a software error in the radio frequency hub (RFH), which can cause the TPMS to malfunction. According to the recall notice, “A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of low tire pressure increases the risk of a crash.”
The vehicles in question do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, which mandates that vehicles must have a functioning tire pressure monitoring system.
Jeep drivers can look for signs of TPMS system failure
According to the recall notice, drivers may not receive any warning before the TPMS fails. However, they might notice a message to service the tire pressure system, a malfunction indicator light or dashes replacing placard values.
To address the issue, Chrysler will provide a software update for the RFH module at no cost to the vehicle owners. The company plans to begin notifying owners by Sept. 29.

Chrysler says it has not received any reports of injuries or accidents related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In June, Chrysler recalled more than 1 million Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators manufactured between 2021 and 2025 due to a potential fire hazard associated with the electric power steering pump wiring.
