Ford is recalling more than 223,000 of its F-150 trucks due to concerns that the fuel tanks may not be properly secured.

The recall, issued on Sept. 9, involves F-150 models produced between 2023 and 2027. The affected vehicles were manufactured during a period when the assembly plants did not consistently use camera systems to verify the correct installation of fuel tank straps, the Ford recall states.
This oversight has led to the potential for the front fuel tank straps to be improperly assembled, as noted in the recall notice.
Ford dealers to inspect, replace straps if necessary at no cost
The Ford recall highlights that there are no specific warnings for drivers to detect this issue before it occurs.
Ford is therefore taking proactive measures to address the issue. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel tank straps at no cost to the vehicle owners.
The company will begin mailing notification letters to owners on Sept. 21. Meanwhile, owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and refrain from driving them until the necessary inspections and repairs are completed.

Ford says it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In late August, Ford recalled more than 148,000 Mustang vehicles due to a defect that may cause a loss of power.
