Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce recall overview:

The T.W. Garner Food Company recalled more than 50,000 bottles of Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce as they may contain undeclared soy.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) website published the recall May 25. It applies to 50,688 glass bottles of 12-oz. Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce with a best-by date of 120623T 065239 printed on the cap. 

According to the recall, some of the bottles may contain Texas Pete Extra Mild Wing Sauce, which contains soy. 

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life- threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the recall states.

No illnesses have been reported to date, and the T.W. Garner Food Company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Customer report led to Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce recall

the T.W. Garner Food Company initiated the recall after it received a customer report that a bottle labeled as Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce actually contained Texas Pete Extra Mild Wing Sauce, which contains soy, the notice states. 

A company investigation indicated the problem was caused by mislabeling during a portion of the production run, the Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce recall states.

T.W. Garner shipped the recalled product to distribution centers and retail stores in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. 

Consumers with a soy allergy or sensitivity who have purchased Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce with a best-by date of 120623T 065239 and UPC of 0 75500 10011 6 should not consume the product, according to the recall notice. They can dispose of it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
