- Where: The recall is effective in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Power Plate Meals has issued a recall for nearly 6,000 pounds of its frozen meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes. The Power Plate recall was prompted by the discovery of soy, an allergen not listed on the product’s label.
The recall notice was posted on June 18 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
It affects 13.3-ounce vacuum-sealed plastic trays of “Power Plate Meals Meatloaf With Garlic Mashed Potatoes,” with use-by dates ranging from June 25, 2026, to June 10, 2027. These products bear the establishment number “217SEND” within the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to locations in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The issue came to light when a state inspector found that the final product label failed to list soy as an ingredient.
Consumers advised to check freezers for recalled frozen meatloaf
The recall notice emphasizes that the omission of soy from the ingredient list poses a risk to individuals with soy allergies.
“The FSIS is concerned that some [products] may be in consumers’ freezers,” the recall notice states. Consumers are advised to discard the frozen meatloaf or return it to the place of purchase.
Power Plate Meals, a West Fargo-based food delivery service, initiated the recall after being alerted by a state inspector. The company has since taken steps to ensure that the mislabeled products are removed from circulation.
The FSIS is conducting recall effectiveness checks to verify that the company has notified its customers and that the frozen meatloaf is no longer available to consumers.

Power Plate Meals says it has not received any reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In other food labeling concerns, a consumer is suing Costco for claims it falsely advertised its Kirkland Signature Five Cheese Tortelloni with Parmigiano Reggiano frozen pasta as containing “no preservatives.”
