(Dec. 22, 2023)

The Quaker Oats Co. recalled some of its granola bars and cereals over concerns they are potentially contaminated with salmonella.

The recall, which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration published Dec. 15, involves a variety of granola cereals and bars, including those featured in snack boxes with products from companies like Frito-Lay and PepsiCo.

Consumers should check their pantries for the recalled Quaker products and dispose of them. The company says it received no confirmed reports of illnesses related to the products.

The recalled Quaker bars have best-by dates of Aug. 2, 2024, Sept. 1, 2024, June 3, 2024, or Oct. 1, 2024, and include any earlier dates, as well.

Some of the recalled Quaker bars include Quaker Chewy Bars Chocolate Chip, Quaker Chewy Bars Dark Chocolate Chunk, Quaker Chewy Bars Oatmeal Raisin and Quaker Chewy Bars S’mores, among others.

Recall includes Puffed Granola Apple Cinnamon Cereal, Simply Granola Oats, others

The recalled Quaker cereals have a best-by date of Sept. 1, 2024, June 3, 2024, or Jan. 9, 2024, and include any earlier dates, as well.

Some of the recalled Quaker cereals include Quaker Puffed Granola Apple Cinnamon Cereal, Quaker Simply Granola Oats Honey & Almond Cereal, Quaker Protein Granola Oats Chocolate & Almonds Flavor and Quaker Puffed Granola Blueberry Vanilla Cereal, among others.

The recalled Quaker bars included in snack boxes have best-before dates of either June 3, 2024, or March 12, 2024.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Quaker Oats directly at 800-492-9322 or through its website.

A trio of consumers filed a class action lawsuit against Quaker last year, arguing the company misrepresents that its Simply Granola products only contain ingredients that are simple and healthy.
