Pack and play mattresses recalls overview:

  • Who: Around 20,000 Spring Spirit and Biloban brand pack and play mattresses and about 1,200 Magic & Kover brand pack and play mattresses were recalled Feb. 22.
  • Why: The pack and play mattresses recalls were initiated over concerns the products violate federal safety regulations for crib mattresses and present a suffocation hazard for infants.
  • Where: The recalled pack and play mattresses were sold to consumers nationwide.

Two pack and play mattresses recalls were announced last week over concerns the recalled crib mattresses pose a suffocation hazard for infants and violate federal safety regulations.

The recalls involve around 20,000 Spring Spirit and Biloban brand pack and play mattresses and about 1,200 Magik & Kover brand pack and play mattresses that were manufactured between August 2022 and July 2023.

The recalled pack and play mattresses violate federal standards for thickness and are missing required warnings and labels, according to the pack and play mattress recalls.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled pack and play mattresses and to contact Biloban or Magic & Kover to receive a full refund and direction on how to dispose of them.

Recalled pack and play mattresses sold on Amazon.com

All of the recalled pack and play mattresses were sold on Amazon.com for around $40, with the Magic & Kover mattresses sold between December 2022 and August 2023 and the Spring Spirit and Biloban mattresses sold between August 2022 and August 2023.

Magic & Kover, Biloban and Amazon said they are contacting all purchasers of the recalled pack and play mattresses directly, according to the recalls.

Retailers Beyond Baby and DODO Baby House initiated recalls in December for pack and play mattresses sold exclusively on Amazon.com over similar concerns that the mattresses violate federal safety rules for crib mattresses and pose a suffocation hazard for infants.
