Activity center recall overview:

  • Who: Dorel Juvenile Group recalled 115,700 of its Cosco Jump, Spin and Play Activity Centers.
  • Why: The straps on the activity centers can detach or break, causing a fall or injury hazard.
  • Where: The activity center recall is valid across the United States.

Dorel Juvenile Group issued a recall for 115,700 of its Cosco Jump, Spin and Play Activity Centers because the straps can detach or break, causing a fall or injury hazard.

Dorel sold the activity centers exclusively at Walmart and walmart.com.

The recalled activity centers have model nos. WA105FZW and WA105GML and are built with a circular hoop base and three poles. Three straps suspend a child seat with a play tray, according to the children’s recall.

The activity centers come in both blue and pink, with two removable toy animals on the play tray, as well as two toy animals hanging from the front two poles, the recall states.

38 minor injuries from children’s activity center, recall states

Dorel Juvenile Group says it received 141 reports of the straps detaching or breaking, with 38 minor injuries involving bumps, bruises and scratches, related to the Walmart recall so far. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Consumers can reach Dorel at (877) 657-9546 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET Friday or via email at coscoactivitycenterrecall@djgusa.com.

In a similar recall, Juratoys recalled more than 6,000 children’s activity tables in June in the United States and Canada as they pose a choking hazard.
