A new Johnsonville turkey sausage recall warns consumers not to consume certain turkey kielbasa sausage due to concerns the product was contaminated with pieces of rubber.
Johnsonville parent company Salm Partners LLC issued the turkey sausage recall for 35,340 pounds of its turkey kielbasa sausage. The recall involves 12-ounce packages containing a single Johnsonville Polish turkey kielbasa produced between Oct. 30 and 31, 2023, marked on the side with best-by dates of May 17 and 18, 2024, and establishment number P-32009.
The Johnsonville recall was issued through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) after customers complained of rubber in the ready-to-eat turkey kielbasa.
The turkey sausage was distributed to retailers across the United States. The FSIS says it is concerned some of the turkey sausage is in consumers’ refrigerators.
Johnsonville turkey sausage recall: Customers should return, throw out recalled sausage
Johnsonville says it has not received any reports of adverse effects related to the recall so far. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Consumers should return the ready-to-eat turkey sausage to the place of purchase or thow it out out, the turkey sausage recall says.

Johnsonville recalled more than 42,000 pounds of ready-to-eat pork sausage links in June 2023 because they potentially contained black plastic fibers.
