Dash Xclusive has issued a nationwide recall of its Imperia Elita Vitaccino Coffee, which is a weight loss and anxiety dietary supplement, due to undeclared Sibutramine and Fluoxetine.

In the recall notice, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that Sibutramine was an FDA-approved drug used as an appetite suppressant for weight loss, but was withdrawn from the market because of safety issues, including stroke, heart failure, and serious health risks — especially to those with underlying heart related disease.

Dash Xclusive is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

The recall notice adds that Fluoxetine is an FDA approved drug used for treating various depressive disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, bulimia, and panic disorders.

“This drug product carries a box warning for suicidal thoughts and behaviors and it needs to be monitored closely by a prescriber.”

In the notice, the FDA says that the presence of the drugs in Imperia Elita Vitaccino coffee renders it an unapproved drug.

Dash Xclusive has not received any reports of adverse events related to the product.

The affected Imperia Elita Vitaccino coffee includes all lots, which were packaged in a black rectangular box and contains fifteen sachets and distributed nationwide via eBay and other sites.

Dash Xclusive is notifying its customers through messages on eBay and is arranging for return of all recalled products.

Consumers are being urged to stop using the coffee and return it to Dash Xclusive, and to contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this drug product.

Consumers with questions regarding this recall can contact Dash Xclusive by email, Mondays to Thursdays from 11am to 4pm PT.

On December 17, 2020, FDA issued a press release that warned consumers to avoid certain products found on Amazon, eBay and other retailers due to hidden and potentially dangerous drug ingredients. It also encouraged online marketplaces to ensure these products are not sold on their platforms.

Dash Xclusive isn’t the only company facing a recall for having undeclared components in its products. Global Sanitizer and Dibar Nutricional have issued recalls on hand sanitizer products due to a potentially dangerous methanol contamination.
