Penske Media Corp. agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims it breached contracts for “lifetime” subscriptions to Rolling Stone Magazine by switching subscribers from printed versions to a digital version of the magazine.
The Rolling Stone settlement benefits individuals who live in the United States and previously purchased a “lifetime” subscription to Rolling Stone Magazine.
The plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim that Penske Media violated the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act by switching lifetime subscribers from printed versions of Rolling Stone Magazine to digital versions.
Penske Media is a media, entertainment and data company that owns several brands, including Rolling Stone.
Under the terms of the Rolling Stone subscription class action settlement, class members have the opportunity to continue receiving the printed edition of their Rolling Stone Magazine subscription for as long as printed editions of the magazine subscription continue to be published during their lifetime.
Class members also have the opportunity to receive two years of access to RollingStone.com at no cost.
Class members who previously requested and are currently receiving the print edition of Rolling Stone Magazine will continue to receive the print edition and may also claim the two years of access to RollingStone.com.
There is no deadline to submit a claim. Class members who do nothing will remain part of the settlement but will not receive any benefits unless they opt in by providing their name, mailing address and email address.
Class members who wish to opt out of the Rolling Stone settlement must do so by June 26, 2026.
The deadline to object to the class action settlement is July 11, 2026.
A final approval hearing in the Rolling Stone settlement is scheduled for Aug. 7, 2026.
