Sexual abuse and trafficking can have lasting effects that continue long after the abuse ends. These impacts are well-documented and can affect many areas of a person’s life.

  • Psychological and Emotional Impact: Individuals may experience depression, anxiety, difficulty regulating emotions, intrusive memories, avoidant behavior or emotional numbness. Some may also receive diagnoses, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), severe depression or other related conditions.
  • Physical Health: Sexual abuse may involve physical injuries that can lead to longer-term health effects, such as chronic pain or other ongoing medical issues.
  • Education and Employment: The effects of abuse can make it difficult to maintain academic progress or consistent employment, sometimes impacting long-term financial stability.
  • Relationships and Social Life: Abuse can affect the ability to form and maintain relationships, including challenges with trust, attachment and communication, which may lead to social isolation.

The harm associated with sex trafficking and abuse is serious and widely recognized. Individuals who have experienced these effects in connection with Jeffrey Epstein or those associated with him may have the option to pursue a sexual abuse lawsuit.
