Whitley’s Peanut Factory allergy alert overview:

  • Who: Whitley’s Peanut Factory recalled certain lots of its 12oz Deluxe Nut Mix.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the nut mix contains undeclared peanuts, milk, soy, wheat and sesame, presenting an allergy risk.
  • Where: The Whitley’s Peanut Factory Deluxe Nut Mix recall was distributed to consumers and wholesalers nationwide.

Whitley’s Peanut Factory recalled some of its 12oz Deluxe Nut Mix over concerns the product may contain undeclared peanuts, milk, soy, wheat and sesame, posing an allergy risk.

The recall involves Whitley’s 12oz Deluxe Nut Mix with the lot codes MFG 22823, MFG 25023, MFG 25823, MFG 29323 and MFG 35623 that was distributed to both wholesalers and retail customers nationwide between the weeks of Aug. 21, 2023, and Jan. 10, 2024.

The company said it has not received any reports of illness in connection with the Whitley’s Peanut Factory recall and advises consumers to immediately discontinue using the product and contact its customer service for a refund.

Some Whit’s Party Mix tins incorrectly labeled as Deluxe Nut Mix

The issue has been attributed to some Whit’s Party Mix tins being labeled as Deluxe Nut Mix, with only the former containing wheat, milk, soy and sesame, according to the recall notice, which was published Jan. 18 by the Food and Drug Administration.

“While both products contain almonds, Whit’s Party Mix also includes peanuts, milk, soy, wheat, and sesame which are not listed in the ‘Contains’ statement of the Deluxe Nut Mix label,” the Whitley’s Peanut Factory allergy alert states.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Whitley’s directly by telephone at 1-800-470-2244 or via email

In another recent allergen-related recall, World Variety Produce recalled some of its Melissa’s brand hot kimchi last month over concerns the product contains undeclared fish, creating an allergy risk.
