Stokke White Clikk High Chair Recall Overview:

  • Who: Stokke is recalling more than 800 white Clikk high chairs.
  • Why: The seat on the chair can break, injuring kids, and the company has received six reports of it breaking so far.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United States and Canada.

More than 800 baby high chairs are being recalled across the United States and Canada after six customers reported the chair seats breaking with two children being hurt and receiving minor bruises.

The recall for Stokke Clikk high chairs in the color white was posted Apr. 7 on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

“The white plastic seat can break, posing fall and injury hazards to children,” the recall states.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

According to the recall, about 790 of the high chairs are being recalled in the United States, and about 48 were sold in Canada.

The recalled high chair has a white molded plastic seat and footrest with wooden legs.

Stokke Says Customers Should Stop Using Product, Contact Company For Free Replacement

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled white high chairs and contact Stokke for a free replacement,” Stokke says.

Consumers will receive the free replacement Clikk high chair in white after visiting Stokke’s website to confirm their product is included in the recall and registering the product online.

The high chairs were sold at Target, Buy Buy Baby and other children’s product stores nationwide and online at www.stokke.com and www.amazon.com from January 2021 through June 2021. They sold for about $180 each.

Only Clikk high chairs that are white in color, have item number 552104 and are within the following serial number range 135AA057070 – 135AA0057908 are included in the recall, the company said.

The item and serial number are printed on a label located under the seat of the high chair.

Meanwhile, a company that makes car seats for babies and toddlers is facing a nationwide class action lawsuit alleging it sold booster seats for small children despite knowing they were unsafe.

In a proposed class action lawsuit filed in 2021, plaintiffs Sandra Oceguera and Mohammad Wafai allege they both bought booster seats for their children from Baby Trend, Inc. believing they were safe for kids as light as 30 pounds when they were not.
