  • Where: The recall is nationwide.

SOUNDBOKS has recalled around 6,700 of its (Gen. 3) Bluetooth Speakers with Lithium Ion Batteries after determining they could pose a fire hazard.

The recall was initiated over concerns the lithium ion batteries in the bluetooth speakers could overheat and start a fire, according to a recall notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Mar. 31.

SOUNDBOKS says the recalled bluetooth speakers are around 26.5 inches high, 17 inches wide and 13 inches deep.

The bluetooth speakers were sold in white, orange, red, black and blue and came with a removable battery that connects to them through a slot on their side, according to the recall.

SOUNDBOKS says each bluetooth speaker, which sold for around $1,000, has its own individual serial number that should be referenced by consumers who contact the company.

Consumers who own the recalled SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) Bluetooth Speaker should immediately stop using the product, remove its battery and contact the company, according to the recall.

SOUNDBOKS says eligible consumers who contact the company will receive a free replacement lithium ion battery along with a $100 credit that can be used toward items in its online shop.

SOUNDBOKS To Provide Instructions On Proper Battery Disposal

SOUNDBOKS will also provide instructions to consumers on how to properly dispose of the defective lithium ion batteries to remain in line with state and federal regulations, according to the recall.

Do not throw this recalled battery in the trash. Do not deposit this recalled battery in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores,” the recall states.

SOUNDBOKS says it has already directly notified all known purchasers of the bluetooth speakers and informed them that they should stop using the product.

The recalled SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) Bluetooth Speakers were sold online at Amazon.com, SOUNDBOKS.com and DJTechTools.com from November 2021 to February 2022, according to the recall.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the recalled bluetooth speakers, according to the recall.

Consumers with questions about the recall can contact SOUNDBOKS directly by phone at 866-761-9472 or on its website.

A separate recall involving speakers was initiated by Grace Digital in 2019 after the company discovered its ECOXGEAR EcoBoulder speakers could burst
