PlayMonster Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles Recall Overview:

  • Who: PlayMonster recalled around 8,900 of its Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles.
  • Why: Recall was initiated over concerns the legs on the glow rattles could break off and pose a choking hazard for young children.
  • Where: The recall is nationwide in the United States and Canada.

PlayMonster has recalled around 8,900 of its Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles over concerns that their legs can break off and become a choking hazard.

The recall also includes around 200 of the Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles that have been sold in Canada, according to a recall notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Mar. 31.

PlayMonster initiated the recall after discovering that the legs on the puppy-shaped Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles are prone to breaking and can pose a choking hazard for small children.

The Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles included in the recall are white in color with red front legs and green back legs and contain spots that can glow in either red or green, according to the recall.

PlayMonster says the legs on the Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles are made with soft plastic and are designed to help a child with their teething process.

The Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles contain a motion-activated rattle that makes a soft sound when shaken and measures around 4 inches long, 2 inches wide and 3.8 inches high, according to the recall.

PlayMonster is advising consumers who own the product to stop using it, immediately take it away from any children and contact the company directly to receive instructions on how to obtain a $25 refund.

Consumers will be given a prepaid shipping label that can be used to return the product to the company, according to the recall.

PlayMonster Received 3 Reports Of Legs Breaking Off

PlayMonster says it has received three separate reports of the legs on the Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles breaking off; however, it says no injuries have been reported.

The Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles were sold at specialty stores around the country as well as online at amazon.com, walmart.com, playmonster.com and zulily.com, according to the recall.

PlayMonster says the recalled products were sold from February 2018 through February 2022 and cost consumers around $25.

Consumers with more questions about the recall can contact PlayMonster directly by phone at 800-469-7506, by email or through its website.

A separate recall involving a child’s toy was initiated earlier this month by B.Toys, which recalled 17,200 of its Wooden Activity Walker — Walk ‘n’ Learn toddler walkers in both the United States and Canada over concerns the wheels and wheel attachment hardware could break off and become a choking hazard.
