$4.5M Aramark Capital One Arena venue fee class action settlement

Aramark agreed to a $4.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it charged an undisclosed venue fee at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

The Aramark Capital One Arena settlement benefits individuals who made a purchase from Aramark at Capital One Arena and paid a venue fee between Oct. 1, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2025.

According to the class action lawsuit, Aramark charged an undisclosed 3% venue fee on food and beverage purchases at the Capital One Arena. Plaintiffs in the case say they were not informed of this fee in compliance with the District of Columbia Consumer Protection Procedures Act.

Aramark is a food and beverage company that provides services to schools, stadiums, hospitals and other venues.

Aramark has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay a $4.5 million class action settlement to resolve the venue fee class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Aramark Capital One Arena settlement, class members who submit a valid claim can receive a pro rata share of the $4.5 million net settlement fund. Individual payments will depend on the number of valid claims submitted after court-approved fees, expenses and administrative costs are deducted.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Dec. 4, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Aramark Capital One Arena settlement is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2027.

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 4, 2026.
