CVS agreed to a $20.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it shared consumer data with third parties without their consent.
The CVS settlement benefits anyone who accessed CVS digital properties, such as CVS.com, before July 27, 2026.
CVS is a pharmacy chain with locations across the country. According to a class action lawsuit against CVS, the company violates consumer privacy rights by sharing their information with third parties.
Specifically, plaintiffs in the case say CVS shares their data with Criteo, a digital advertising company. This data sharing allegedly occurs through “technology embedded on any of the CVS digital properties.”
CVS has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay a $20.5 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the CVS digital privacy settlement, class members can receive a cash payment of up to $5 without documentation or up to $10 with documentation.
Documentation may include proof of purchase, membership or other information that supports class members’ claims.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Nov. 1, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the CVS class action settlement is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2026.
To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Nov. 16, 2026.
