The Money Source has agreed to a $1.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims it violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) with unsolicited robocalls.
The Money Source settlement benefits individuals who received a call from The Money Source using an artificial or prerecorded voice after requesting that the company stop calling them between Feb. 6, 2019, and May 7, 2025.
The Money Source is a mortgage lender that offers a variety of loan products. The company may use robocalls to contact customers about their loans.
According to claims made in the class action lawsuit resolved by this settlement, The Money Source violated the TCPA by contacting consumers with unsolicited robocalls. Plaintiffs in the case say they never gave The Money Source consent to contact them with robocalls.
The TCPA prohibits telemarketers from contacting consumers with robocalls unless they have prior express written consent. The law also requires telemarketers to maintain a “Do Not Call” list and honor consumer requests to be added to this list.
The Money Source has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $1.5 million to resolve these allegations.
Under the terms of the The Money Source settlement, class members can receive a cash payment. Exact payment amounts will vary depending on the number of calls each class member received and the number of claims filed with the settlement.
Class members who received a larger number of calls will receive a larger share of the settlement fund. No payment estimates are available at this time.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 7, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2026.
No claim form is required to benefit from the TCPA settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive a settlement payment.
Who’s Eligible
The class action settlement benefits consumers who received a call from The Money Source (TMS) between Feb. 6, 2019, and May 7, 2025, directed to a number assigned to a cellular telephone service in which TMS used an artificial or prerecorded voice after the called party requested that TMS stop calling them.
