ABC Legal Services agreed to a $2.5 million class action settlement to resolve claims surrounding a 2024 data breach.
The ABC Legal Services settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was potentially compromised in the ABC Legal Services data breach discovered in November 2024, including those who received a data breach notice.
The data breach reportedly occurred in August 2024 and compromised sensitive information, such as names, contact information, Social Security numbers, financial account information and driver’s license data.
Plaintiffs in the ABC Legal Services data breach class action lawsuit say the company could have prevented the data breach through reasonable cybersecurity measures and that it failed to promptly inform consumers of the breach. The company allegedly waited three months to inform consumers that their information had been compromised.
ABC Legal Services is a process serving company that serves legal documents, such as summonses, complaints and subpoenas.
ABC Legal Services has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.5 million class action settlement to resolve the allegations.
Under the terms of the ABC Legal Services settlement, class members can receive a cash payment and reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses.

All class members, regardless of whether they experienced losses as a result of the breach, can receive two years of free credit monitoring services through IDX. These services include dark web monitoring, real-time inquiry alerts and $1 million in identity theft insurance.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 28, 2026.
The final approval hearing for the ABC Legal Services settlement is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2026.
