Lloyd’s agreed to pay $3.57 million as part of an ongoing class action settlement to resolve claims it violated federal racketeering laws by conspiring with other insurers to raise the price of insurance policies.

The Lloyd’s of London settlement benefits individuals and entities who purchased or renewed an insurance contract with Lloyd’s syndicates 727, 1003, 2003, 2020 and 2791 between Jan. 1, 1997, and April 15, 2025. The settlement does not cover policies purchased from syndicate 2488.

According to the class action lawsuit, Lloyd’s and other insurers conspired to raise the price of insurance policies through a scheme that concealed a lack of competition in the Lloyd’s market. This insurance price-fixing scheme allegedly violated the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Lloyd’s is an insurance marketplace that connects brokers and underwriters to sell a variety of insurance products.

Lloyd’s has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $3.57 million class action settlement to resolve the RICO allegations.

Under the terms of the Lloyd’s of London settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the amount they paid in premiums for their insurance policies.

Class members who paid a higher premium will receive a larger share of the settlement fund. No payment estimates are available at this time. Class members who received a settlement notice in the mail may have received a payment estimate with their notice.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Oct. 2, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the insurance price-fixing class action settlement is scheduled for Oct. 23, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Oct. 30, 2026.
