The Wyze recall, announced on June 4, affects units sold in the United States and Canada. The cameras, identified by model number WYZESCPWH, are equipped with lithium-ion batteries and feature motorized pan-and-tilt functionality.
The cameras were sold in white at various retailers, including Home Depot and Micro Center, as well as online platforms like Amazon and Best Buy. The cameras, manufactured in China, were sold between October 2025 and April 2026 for approximately $80.
The recall stems from a risk that improper installation could puncture the battery’s metal casing, leading to overheating and potential fire hazards.

The company is offering a free replacement camera with a solar panel accessory, a full refund or a gift card for the original purchase price. Consumers must attest to the disposal of the recalled camera, which should be done following local and state regulations to prevent environmental hazards.
