woman shopping onlineTop Class Actions viewers have started to report receiving checks for as much as $20 from the Wish.com “original price” class action settlement.

The Wish.com class action settlement alleged that the online shopping website deceived customers into believing that they were getting a deal based on a false “original price.”

According to the Wish class action, the “regular” or “original” price included on Wish.com items was intentionally inflated in order to deceive consumers.

By including an allegedly false original price on an item, consumers were made to believe that the price on Wish.com was significantly less than they would find elsewhere.

The idea of getting a deal allegedly made consumers more likely to spend money on Wish.com purchases so they paid more for items on the website than they would have had they been aware of the advertising scheme.

Wish.com allegedly knew the effect that their pricing scheme would have and took actions to intentionally deceive their consumers.

Lead plaintiffs Sherhonda Golden and Denise Valencia filed their class action lawsuit aiming to hold Wish.com accountable for their alleged scheme.

Plaintiffs in the Wish pricing class action brought claims of Missouri Merchandising Practices Act violations, California Consumer Legal Remedies Act violations, California Unfair Competition Law violations, California False Advertising Act violations, and unjust enrichment.

Through the Wish.com class action settlement, these claims have been resolved. Wish does not admit any wrongdoing in the settlement, but consumers are able to collect compensation for the company’s alleged deception.

Settlements often provide an attractive solution to both Class Members and defendants. Both parties avoid the potential risks of further litigation, Class Members get paid, and defendants are often protected from further lawsuits from Class Members about the same issues.

Class Members who submitted a valid claim may soon receive their checks paying between $3 and $20. The compensation available depends on proof of purchase provided by consumers in their Claim Form.

Settlement Class Members included consumers who purchased items through Wish.com between June 16, 2013 and Dec. 12, 2017. Settlement documents estimated the number of Class Members at 22 million.

With around 22 million Class Members receiving up to $20, the potential settlement value was more than $100 million. The settlement also provided $3,000 service awards to each of the Class representatives and $2.1 million in attorneys’ costs and fees.

The deadline to file a claim for the Wish class action settlement passed on Aug. 1, 2018.

    Shipping was always an issue with me..sure keep product but they wouldnt pat the shipping cost back at all..or they say they credit your account..only what you purchased not shipping charges..
    Or you never get item..and nothing was returned after many attempts to talk to customer service.nothing was refunded ..not even shipping cost..
    I was sick of it
    Decided not to keep shopping there..
    You weren’t getting really a discount .it always seemed shipping and item priced and total was just a waste of my time and patience..when customer service was not English speaking..as in they don’t get the complaint ..and it was forwarded to another person..well the next didn’t understand at all.
    So if they’re supposed to be support they are to understand English.
