VW, Audi faulty tire pressure recall overview:Â
- Who: Volkswagen (VW) and Audi issued a recall for more than 225,000 vehicles ranging from model year 2019 to 2021. Â
- Why: The companies initiated the recall over concerns the vehicles contain faulty tire pressure monitoring systems that won’t alert drivers fast enough in the event their tires simultaneously lose pressure at the same rate.Â
- Where: The VW and Audi recall is nationwide.Â
Volkswagen (VW) and Audi issued a recall of more than 225,000 vehicles over concerns they contain tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) that could be slow to react in the event all four tires simultaneously lose pressure at the same rate.Â
VW says the TPMS software would still notify drivers prior to the tire pressure becoming dangerously low; however, it would not alert drivers in a time fast enough to be compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, Autoblog reports.Â
The VW and Audi recall includes model year 2019 and 2020 Audi A3, 2019 Audi Q3, 2019 Audi A3 Cabriolet; 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan LWB, Golf Alltrack, Golf R and Golf SportWagen; 2019 to 2021 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles; and model year 2019 and 2020 Volkswagen Golf, Golf GTI, Jetta and Jetta GLI vehicles.Â
Audi, VW recall says owners to receive notification letters by Dec. 30
VW says it will send notification letters to affected vehicle owners by Dec. 30 and that drivers who don’t want to wait to receive info can contact CW or Audi directly at their respective customer service lines, Autoblog reports.Â
Additionally, Audi recently recalled an additional 6,076 vehicles over concerns they contain infotainment systems built with faulty voltage regulators that can damage them and cause their display screen and rearview camera pictures to stop working.Â
And in June, a consumer filed a class action lawsuit against Volkswagen and Audi, claiming the automakers concealed that some of their vehicles contained defective turbochargers.Â

5 thoughts onVW, Audi recall 225,000 vehicles due to potential faulty tire pressure monitoring systems
I have a 2010 Audi A5 Quattro 2.0 turbocharged that I have owned only 4 months and is now undriveable due to coolant leak issues,ECU light issues, water pump failing issues etc.
I have a 2018 Audi Q5 that didn’t alarm before I rear ended a truck with no tail lights.

On June 21 I had a sudden unintentional acceleration event. I was parking my car with my foot on the brake when suddenly my car surged out of control and crashed into a building. The car was a volkswagen golf sportswagen. The same accident happened in April of 2019 — parking the car — foot on the brake when suddenly the car surged fast and out of control and crashed into a building. I would like to get involved in a class action lawsuit involving volkswagen.
I have a 2017 VW Jetta with 33,434 miles. I bought new tires from Covina VV DEALER in Covina,California about 8months ago. I have since the 2nd month of having new tires, I am constantly having to put air in front tire. I’ve taken to dealer 3xs and called a few times. They check and cant find a problem.
