Stellantis is recalling nearly 1.3 million of its Ram 1500 pickup trucks from model years 2019 to 2026 due to concerns over improperly attached seatbelt buckle anchors in the second row.
The recall affects 1,271,294 trucks in the United States alone and extends to an estimated 156,138 vehicles in Canada and 74,084 in Mexico, highlighting the widespread nature of the issue.
The issue involves the seatbelt anchors for the center and driver-side seats in the second row, which may not be securely attached to the vehicle’s structure. This defect could lead to seatbelts failing to function properly during a crash, thereby increasing the risk of injury, according to the recall notice.
Dealerships to inspect Ram 1500 trucks, perform seatbelt repairs for free
The recall notice advises owners of the affected Ram 1500 models to bring their vehicles to a dealership for inspection. Technicians will check the seatbelt buckles in the rear seats and, if necessary, properly attach them to the vehicle’s body structure at no cost to the owner.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 18, advising vehicle owners to contact their dealer to schedule an inspection appointment.

Stellantis says it has not received any reports of injury related to the Ram recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Earlier this year, Stellantis was hit with a lawsuit accusing it of falsely advertising its 2022 and 2023 Ram ProMaster vans as having nine-speed automatic transmissions when they only have seven usable gears.
