Risperdal side effectsGynecomastia, or the increase in breast tissue for men, can be a traumatic experience for teenagers. It is why one man stepped in front of the camera to help out a fellow gynecomastia victim on a social media website.

Neither disclosed the reason for their condition, but the man who reached out with the viral video said that he is happy with his life even though he is frustrated by what he has to deal with. In rare cases, conditions that may be caused by Risperdal complications may be reversed. However, in most cases the tissue has formed in such a way that to remove the male breast growth one must be done via costly, invasive surgery.

That is particularly concerning for people who took the antipsychotic Risperdal, made by Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals. Plaintiffs have accused the pharmaceutical company of having marketed the drug for unapproved uses, including in adolescent males in Risperdal lawsuits.

While several drugs used to treat mood disorders can cause an increase in the hormone of the opposite sex, Risperdal also increases prolactin. This is directly linked to male breast growth.

Risperdal patients who have filed Risperdal lawsuits claim that if they been adequately informed of the Risperdal side effects such as gynecomastia, especially at a time when they were going through numerous hormonal changes at the same time as they were being treated for a mental illness, they might have opted to use a different drug from during their teenage years. After all, Risperdal man boobs are caused by a drug that has been supplanted by a number of much safer options, they allege.

Even though there are ways for people to support each other online like the man who shared his story in an online video, in some cases that may have never had to have occur in the first place had they been properly warned about alleged Risperdal complications.

In general, Risperdal lawsuits are filed individually by each plaintiff and are not class actions.
