Space heater recall overview:

  • Who: DREO is recalling 338,800 DR-HSH015 space heaters, with an additional 36,300 units sold in Canada.
  • Why: The space heaters are being recalled due to a risk of overheating and igniting, which poses fire and burn hazards.
  • Where: The space heater recall is effective in the United States and Canada.

DREO is recalling approximately 339,000 space heaters in the United States in addition to about 36,000 sold in Canada due to a risk of overheating and catching fire, potentially causing burns.

The recall, announced on Oct. 29, applies to DREO space heaters, model DR-HSH015, manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026.

These ceramic, electric heaters are black, measure approximately 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall and come with a remote control. The model and manufacture date are labeled on the underside of the heaters.

โ€œConsumers should stop using the recalled space heaters immediately and contact DREO for a free replacement,โ€ the space heater recall notice says.

Recalled space heaters sold at Costco stores, major online retailers

The recall notice highlights that the space heaters were sold at Costco stores nationwide and online at several major retailers, including BestBuy.com, Kohls.com and HomeDepot.com, from September 2025 through October 2026, priced between $70 and $110.

DREO has received 17 reports of the space heaters igniting, with three incidents resulting in property damage and one causing a burn injury to a consumer’s hand.

The company is offering a free replacement space heater to affected consumers. Customers are instructed to unplug the heater, cut the electrical cord and send a photo of the destroyed unit to DREO for verification.

For more information, consumers can contact DREO toll-free at 833-820-0887 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or email [email protected]. Consumers can also visit the DREO website recall page.

DREO is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

In June, Vornado recalled 255,000 Tower Heaters in the United States due to a significant fire hazard, including eight sold in Canada.
