Shein announces children’s pajama recall

Shein pajama recall overview: 

• Who: Shein issued a recall for approximately 17,300 of its SHEIN EVRYDAY Kids 97% polyester, 3% elastane children’s pajamas.
• Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the pajamas violate federal flammability regulations for children’s sleepwear, posing a burn risk. 
• Where: The recalled children’s pajamas were sold to consumers nationwide in the U.S.

Shein issued a recall for around 17,300 of its children’s pajama sets over concerns the product violates U.S. federal flammability regulations for children’s sleepwear, posing a burn risk for children.

The recall involves SHEIN EVRYDAY Kids 97% polyester, 3% elastane children’s pajamas sold in blue, pink, purple and orange, with the SKU codes 2407018985445734, 2407082184653588, 2406274753471153 and 2404283444125106, respectively. The pajamas were sold in sizes 8Y, 9Y, 10Y, 11Y and 12Y.

The recalled children’s sleepwear was sold exclusively on Shein’s website priced around $20 from August 2023 through November 2024, according to the children’s pajamas recall. 

Any affected consumer should immediately take the recalled pajamas away from children,  stop using the product and contact Shein for a full refund. 

Shein directly contacting known purchasers of recalled children’s sleepwear 

Shein said it is contacting all known purchasers of the recalled children’s sleepwear directly and that there have been reports of incidents or injuries in connection with the recall.

In other Shein-related news, e-commerce platform Temu hit back at the fashion retailer last year after Shein claimed the companies behind Temu were guilty of intellectual property theft and unfair competition. 

Temu, in a pair of motions to dismiss the claims, argued Shein failed to immediately take action and that it only filed the complaint in an effort to stifle competition because its business model is failing.
