The Norcold class action settlement resolves allegations that certain refrigerators, made for recreational vehicles and boats, contain a safety-related defect. The plaintiffs claim the defect could cause the boiler tubes to prematurely corrode causing flammable gas to leak. The Norcold class action lawsuit says this defect could increase the risk of a fire.

Norcold Inc. denied the allegations but agreed to pay $36 million to resolve the claims regarding its 1200 Series, N8 Series and N6 Series. In addition, the company also agreed to provide Class Members with a three-year extended warranty which would cover the N6 or N8 Series refrigerators failing due to the alleged defect.

Under the terms of the settlement, Norcold agreed to send out settlement checks once a year for the next four years to qualifying Class Members who submitted valid and timely claims.

Class Members included all U.S. residents who currently or formerly owned a Norcold 1200 Series gas absorption refrigerator or cooling unit that was made between Jan. 1, 2002 and Oct. 1, 2012. Additionally, consumers who currently own a Norcold N6 or N8 Series gas absorption refrigerator or cooling unit made between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2013 were also considered Class Members.

The deadline to file a claim for the Norcold RV refrigerator settlement passed on Aug. 26, 2016.

Does anyone still have the paperwork with the first 3 checks? Wasn’t the 4th check supposed to be a little more? Either in interest or they were paying out what was left after the settlement. Does anyone remember?

I have not received my 2019 settlement check— I have sent numerous e-mails and change of address notifications as well as a certified letter to KCC the claims administrator with no response —I called the 1-866 -381- 9100 number at 11:50am today and received a message due too high call volume we can not take your call at this time —I could not even leave a voice message to ask for a call back.—???? WHAT IS GOING ON KCC.

  5. Member says:

Finially received my lost re-issued check at my PO Box….Texas… Aug 27th 2019

  6. Tramell Clayton says:

I still haven’t received my check after they said the reissued checks was mailed on August 16th. I’m starting to believe they are lying to us & we won’t receive anything.

    1. Member says:

I reported my check lost/stolen and requested a reissued on July 18th. Was told mid aug to end of march would be mailed but as of emails a couple days ago no definite date has been given nor an explanation. I get the impression theres been so many lost checks and people keep calling in that they just keep pushing the reissue date for everyone. Im guessing thats some interest money gained by the law firm. Top Class has nothing to do with checks, they advise to contact law firm directly for answers. Itd be easier to understand and not get upset if theyd give an explanation and not leave us in the dark. Im sure the firm isnt waiting on yearly payouts or lost mailed checks as Norcold has probably paid them in full if I understand correctly how a lawsuit works.

      1. Member says:

  8. Jack D. Brown says:

We have not received our 3rd settlement check as of August 3rd, 2019

  9. David says:

Has anyone been told a mailing date for re-issued checks? Are they mailing on a case by case or as a lump on a certain date? I requested a re-issuance as i never received my July 1st 2019 check and was advised of a 3-5 week processing. Im actually curious how many are missing checks… and how many actually forget about these checks, and where that “surplus” goes. No one has returned any of my emails other than one automated general acknowledged receipt of my inquiries.

    1. Danielle says:

I havent received mine either. I tried contacting the admins but no response. Please let me know if you’ve heard something different

      1. David says:
