Ford is recalling approximately 422,600 vehicles, including Lincoln Navigators, Ford Expeditions and various Super Duty truck models due to a defect in the windshield wiper arms that could lead to their failure.
The recall notice was published on March 31 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The Ford recall affects 2021-2023 model year Lincoln Navigators and Ford Expeditions, as well as 2022-2023 model year F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Super Duty trucks.
“Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” the recall says.
The company is committed to inspecting and replacing the wiper arms at no cost to the vehicle owners.
Ford to offer free inspections and wiper replacements
The recall notice says Ford will begin notifying vehicle owners with interim letters starting April 13 to inform them of the safety risk. A second letter will be sent once the necessary repair solutions are available.
Proactive steps include free inspections and replacements of the defective wiper arms through its network of dealers. These measures aim to ensure all affected vehicles, including the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, are promptly serviced to prevent potential accidents caused by reduced visibility.
