family dollar class action lawsuitTop Class Actions viewers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a class action settlement that accused discount retailer Family Dollar of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Family Dollar TCPA settlement began receiving both a $29.95 store gift card and a $29.95 check on Aug. 12, 2016.

If you filed a claim for the Family Dollar class action settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because checks are on their way!

The Family Dollar settlement resolves allegations that the company sent text messages to customers without their prior express written consent.

Class Members included all U.S. residents who were sent a unwanted text from Family Dollar between Oct. 16, 2013 and Mar. 7, 2016.

Family Dollar denied the allegations but agreed to pay $1.5 million to avoid the cost and risk of further litigation.

The deadline to file a claim for the Family Dollar class action settlement passed on June 3, 2016.

    I filed a family dollar law suit and I have not received my check are gift card and I filed it in a timely manner. Please give me the Settlement administer phone number. So I can contact them. In the amount of $29.95 check and $29.95 gift card. Thank you.

    I filed my claim May 17th and I have yet to receive anything either if anyone has a phone number that I can contact a live person that would be helpful I am still looking for my gift card and check

    I received a confirmation number but I never got a check or gift card., it is now September 15th, 2016.

    In Jacksonville, FL and still no check. Submitted claim on 05/19/2016 and received a claim number. I am no sure they are still sending out checks in September. Called the administrator 844-202-5254 and only automated options were listed. No chance to speak with a live person.

    I know right. I received text from them but yet i didnt get anything. My neighbor on the other hand just filled out the claim just for giggles and got a check…???
