Diamond Walnuts Settlement Checks Mailed!

By Kimberly Mirando

Diamond Walnuts Settlement Top Class Actions readers are reporting they received their settlement checks from the Diamond walnuts class action lawsuit settlement.

A California federal court granted final approval of the Diamond walnut settlement on October 16, 2012, which resolves allegations that Diamond Foods misbranded its walnut products by making false and misleading statements about the health benefits of eating walnuts, including that eating them would lead to a healthy heart.

Class Members of the Diamond walnuts class action settlement included consumers who purchased Diamond of California brand walnuts in the United States from March 22, 2006 through January 30, 2012. Class Members had until October 26, 2012 to file a claim to receive either $8.25 for every 3-pound bag of walnuts they purchased from Sam’s Club, or $3.25 for any other Diamond of California walnut product purchased.

Received $41.00 with no pop and a letter that explained that they chose to “audit” any multiple claims submitted with the same address. Although we submitted valid claims with the same address, one claim was denied after “validation” (they did not request any additional info from us, so I’m not sure how they “validated” anything). My guess is, anyone who submitted more than one claim from the same address, even if they had individual Sam’s Club memberships, were denied. Would love to hear from anyone who had multiple claims paid out to the same address – bet there are none. Oh good, more money for the attorneys – less for those who actually purchased the product! Thanx for your website/newsletter. Without you, we wouldn’t be aware of many of these suits to participate in.

  9. Morgan says:

  10. Ernestine says:

    19.75 no pop
